Nearly three weeks after Larry King’s death, the details of his last will and testament have been revealed.
People obtained the legendary broadcaster’s will which was handwritten and requested that his estate be left to his five children.
The legal document was signed prior to the death of two of his adult kids last year. King’s son Andy, 65, and daughter Chaia, 51, died within a month of each other in the summer of 2020.
"This is my Last Will & Testament," the document stated. "It should replace all previous writings. In the event of my death, any day after the above date I want 100% of my funds to be divided equally among my children Andy, Chaia, Larry Jr., Chance & Cannon."
While King’s estate is estimated to be worth $2 million, he is believed to have had other assets in separate trusts, reported TMZ.
The will was dated Oct. 17, 2019, which was also two months after King filed for divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick King. The pair split after 22 years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple were married in 1997 and shared two sons, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20.
King’s eldest son, Larry King Jr., has petitioned to be appointed administrator of the estate since his father was still in the middle of divorce proceedings upon his death, the court documents noted, according to Us Weekly.
The television icon passed away on January 23rd at the age of 87.
Despite being hospitalized with COVID in December, Shawn later disclosed his death was not due to the novel virus.
"It was an infection, it was sepsis," she told ”Entertainment Tonight.”
"Well, he was finally ready to go, I will tell you that. You know, he never wanted to go but his sweet little body was just, it had just been hit so many times with so many things and once we heard the word COVID, all of our hearts just sunk. But he beat it, you know, he beat it, but it did take its toll and then the unrelated infection finally is what took him, but boy, he was not gonna go down easily."
