(SportsRadio 610) - Texans safety Justin Reid was benched against the New York Jets on Sunday in what head coach David Culley has described as a violation of team rules and standards.

To say Reid's benching was a surprise would be an understatement, considering he is not only one of the team's best players, but has also established himself as a leader since being drafted by Houston in 2018.

Retired NFL safety and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, released a video before Sunday's game saying Reid was a healthy scratch because he answered a question honestly.

Reid then talked to Fox 26's Mark Berman, who right around kickoff reported the Texans safety saying this stems from a disagreement at a team meeting and that he was shocked to be made inactive for the game.

Culley has declined to go into detail about what happened with Reid, calling it an internal matter. The coach did say Monday that this "wasn't just a disagreement."

On Reaction Monday, Payne & Pendergast address the lead story: Reid being made inactive.
