Wallingford doesn’t want you!

While most towns are hoping for tourists to start coming out to visit again as the virus recedes, the small town of Wallingford, PA, would rather you go see the Rocky statue in Philly or something.

HBO has another buzzy hit drama on their hands with “Mare of Easttown,” starring Kate Winslet, and Wallingford was happy the cable fave chose their burg as the setting and location site for the show.

But last Monday, as the New York Post reports, the local Nether Providence Police took to their Facebook page to remind fans that while they appreciate the love, they don’t appreciate the invasive messes visitors leave in their wake.

On the post, under an imposing announcement of “POLICE INFORMATION,” the post goes on to wag its digital finger at “Mare” fanatics.

“Yes! It’s neat they filmed a lot of it in our town. Yes!! It’s really cool Kate was ‘living in Wallingford.’ No!!!!! It’s NOT cool to go to the homes they filmed at, trespass on the property and harass the owners and their kids all hours of the day and night…..REALLY! It’s a house. Get over it.”

One testy tourist taking pictures even yelled back at the homeowner of one of the filming sites, scaring children playing in the yard.

Police are now giving notice to visitors that signs are posted and “warnings will not be given” for infractions like trespassing, blocking traffic, or disturbing the peace.

And the Facebook post further sternly warned, “If you plan on taking this trip, STOP and think! Officers will be in and around the area(s) and will take appropriate action. Warnings will not be given and signs are posted. Trespassers, blocking traffic, disturbing the peace, etc., will not be tolerated. Thank you.”

Maybe those annoyed Wallingford townsfolk can take a vacation themselves and go commiserate with the Bronx residents who got real tired of “The Joker” fans dancing up and down those stairs.
