INGREDIENTS
Dough:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon dry fast-acting yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 egg (whisked)
- A sprinkling of all-purpose flour (for kneading)
- 250 grams Mozzarella cheese (you can also use cheddar, gouda, gruyere, or whatever cheese you have available)
Garlic Butter:
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- A sharp blade knife (for scoring the bread dough)
- Egg wash (for the edges of the bread)
- Freshly cracked black pepper
