We will officially be in August tomorrow and we have our first full moon, also known as the "Sturgeon Moon," that we'll see tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
The Sturgeon Moon is a supermoon, making it appear brighter and bigger than an average full moon. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the moon will reach it's peak at 2:32p. Tomorrow's moon is the second of four consecutive supermoons, which are about 16% brighter than a normal full moon.
The next supermoon, which will also be a rare blue moon, will appear the night of Aug. 30. A blue moon happens when are two full moons in a single month but it's not actually blue in color.
Blue moons happen only once every three years on average so we won't get to see another one til 2026.
The Sturgeon Moon is named after the great sturgeon fish of the Great Lakes.

The final Supermoon of the year will be September 29, 2023.
