A Bomb Cyclone is Hitting the Northeast

The Northeast is bracing for the possibility of an intense winter storm this weekend and Wicker & Wilde want to share this information in case you are planning to travel. The National Weather Service warns D.C., Boston, New York, and other areas could see blizzard-like conditions late Friday into early Saturday. D.C. will for sure be in a deep freeze and if they get snow it will be near and/or east of I-95.

"Confidence is increasing that a coastal storm will bring significant winter impacts to parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, including the I-95 major metro areas, Friday through the weekend," the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center offered via Twitter. (See Below) "Heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding are all possible.”


While forecasters aren’t sure of the storm's exact path, they are pretty well locked in to believe it’s going to become a "bomb cyclone." For those who don’t know, that’s a a winter hurricane that occurs when a cyclone strengthens by rapidly intensifying or quickly dropping in atmospheric pressure. Basically, lots of snow – LOTS of wind – and a nightmare for the region. Bottom line is please be careful......xo - Wicker & Wilde
