Wicker & Wilde love a good Supermoon and there is one more to experience before the end of the year; the Beaver moon! This moon is so named for the beavers who usually make their dams this time of the year.

According to NASA, a Supermoon is a full moon that is at its closest distance from Earth. It's a little more involved than that but really that's the gist of it. And the Beaver moon is the last one we'll see of 2024.

The moon will be officially full at 4:28 p.m. this Friday, Nov. 15th, 2024, however, the experts are saying the best time to see this particular moon is the following evening on Saturday, November 16th, about 20 to 30 minutes after sunset. That's also the best time to see the "seven sisters," the brightest stars in the Pleiades star cluster. In Greek mythology the seven sisters were the daughters of Titan and Pleione and were eventually turned into stars by Zeus to protect the sisters from Orion the Hunter.

You don't need binoculars or a telescope to see this moon, however, if you want to get a gander at what's on the lunar surface, then get out the optical aid and do it before the moon gets too bright to see anything, so do it moonrise.
