SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Hansel is a precious little fellow who we believe to be about 2-3 years old. He was found with another dog and both were very emaciated. It is believed they had been dumped as where they were found is a in a rural area known for dumped animals. Hansel is a very nice dog who loves people and other small, well behaved dogs. We believe he would be a great addition to most families. Hansel is eating well and gaining weight, and will likely. top out between 15 and 20 pounds. We would love to find him a home with a family who is active and committed to training him well and spending time with him. A home with a secured, fenced yard is preferred.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
