JAXSON is a darling puppy who came to us recently from a NC shelter with his littermate, Jinx! Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet and very playful. This little guy is just over 6 pounds, and is likely not to be much more as an adult. Pups do most of their growing in the first four months. Jaxson has already been neutered, microchipped, given all his vaccines and is on heart worm prevention. We would love to find a home for Jaxson with another small dog about his size. He loves his 'sister" Jinx, and while they do not have to be adopted together, they certainly love one another and enjoy being with each other. He will likely do well with another small dog who is also friendly and gentle. We require a home without larger animals and without small children. Extra consideration will be given to an adopter who works from home and can spend time with his, and a private fully fenced yard will be required for adoption.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
