Happy 2022 Falcon fans! We are very happy to report that the Richmond Falcon Cam livestream will return on March 1 for another exciting season of peregrine falcon nesting! And, because we are so appreciative of you subscribing to our Falcon Cam Nest Updates, we wanted you to be the first to know about some exciting upgrades that we’ve got in store for 2022.
Even though the livestream won’t start until March, you can still get a sneak peek at what’s been happening at the ledge thanks to the new time lapse player that is now live at dwr.virginia.gov/falcon-cam/.
These time lapse videos display still images taken every 15 seconds. This means you can go back and catch up on any action you may have missed, even if you weren’t able to tune in live! The timelapse player stores 30 days of videos and will be available for viewing even after we start streaming. You can access all the different days of time lapse videos via the date in the bottom navigation bar of the video.
Also, when the livestream starts in March, make sure you’ve got your device’s volume turned on, as we have a new microphone installed, which means the video feed will now include sound.
