Wicker and Wilde hope you (and we) never need to go to the hospital, however, if we did we know we'd be in good hands in regards to great hospitals in the area. Newsweek has come out with it's 2023 list of the World’s Best Hospitals and 15 of them are in Virginia and D.C.
Newsweek ranked 2,300 hospitals in 80 countries. The listed hospitals are considered innovative and first-class, but needed to “consistently attract the best people and provide the best outcomes for patients as well as the most important new therapies and research,” according to the magazine. In international team of medical professionals made up the board who chose these hospitals.
Here is the methodology used. In the meantime here are the closest to the RVA area but you should seriously consider checking out the entire list because there are others located in Charlottesville, Norfolk, Leesburg, D.C. and more.
In at #66: VCU Medical Center in RVA with an overall score of just under 70%
In at #181: Henrico Doctors' Hospital in RVA with an overall score of 64.25%
