Richmond Animal Care and Control, for Thanksgiving, did a Foster care program where you got to have a doggie for the holiday and a dog (and other animals) got a break from the shelter……Wicker & Wilde spoke with Christie Peters, the Director of RACC, and Christie tells us they are considering doing the same type of program for Christmas, but the shelter is gauging interest before they do it. Are you interested?
If so then you are asked to email Christie.peters@richmondgov.com and let her know your thoughts. You can also message Richmond Animal Care and Control on their Facebook page.
If you would want to participate, the shelter's greatest foster need is for large pit bull dogs that need to be the only pet in the home, but they always have cats and a few dog friendly pups as well! RACC is an open admission shelter so you never know what may come in their doors at any moment.
They hope to hear from you soon to know whether or not they should do the Christmas Foster Program.
Also if you were considering an end-of-year donation, THIS is the time to do it and RACC Foundation is the perfect charity. If they can raise $100,000 by 12/31, a wonderfully generous donor will MATCH IT! Please consider making a gift to support their life saving work!
Gifts can be made online (it's safe and secure) or mailed/dropped off at RACC-1600 Chamberlayne Ave, Richmond 23222. Thank you in advance for helping RACC work to reach their goal!
