The American sports drama directed by Oscar winner Oliver Stone documents the rise and fall of the Miami Sharks, DAmato’s (Al Pacino) team that was once at the top of their game but has since suffered loss after loss, particularly with their former star player, Jack “Cap” Rooney (Dennis Quad).
Rudy
The biographical sports drama, directed by David Anspaugh, is an inside look at the life of Daniel Ruettiger (played by Sean Astin), who fights for his dream of getting out of the steel mill where his father died and playing football for Notre Dame.
The Replacements
When a professional football team goes on strike, team owner Edward O’Neil (Jack Warden in his final film appearance) recruits retired legendary coach Jimmy McGinty (Gene Hackman) to allow “everyday guys” to play in the big league. The 2000 sports film also stars Keanu Reeves and Jon Favreau.
Remember The Titans
The film, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Boaz Yakin, is based on the true story of Herman Boone (Denzel Washington), a newly appointed Black coach who aims to help the first integrated team in 1970’s Virginia overcome prejudice and win games.
