While Netflix's "Fuller House" was just the dose of nostalgia that many viewers needed, it lacked one thing in particular - well, two things: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Written off of the sequel series to "Full House," the famous twins were nowhere to be found when "Fuller House" began streaming on Netflix in 2016, leaving viewers to wonder what happened there.
Now, some of our questions have been answered - namely, what did the rest of the cast think of their decision not to return to the iconic show?
John Stamos, who plays Uncle Jesse in both the original and the sequel series, revealed on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" how everyone reacted to the news that the Olsen twins would not be joining them for the reboot series.
"We were disappointed, but we understood," he said.
He went on to describe costar Lori Loughlin's rationale behind the matter. "I remember Lori saying to me, 'They won two or three CFDA Awards [Council of Fashion Designers of America]. That's like winning two or three Oscars. If you won three Oscars, would you come back and do this?'" she explained.
"I was like, 'Eh, maybe not,'" Stamos replied.
The Olsens, who are now designers, both played the role of Michelle Tanner in the original series. The reboot, "Fuller House," ended in 2020 after 5 seasons.
