Let’s talk about 'Beyoncé Bowl,' Bey's epic 'COWBOY CARTER' Christmas Day Halftime show

And the '1.4.25.' tease on IG that followed

During halftime at Netflix's first-ever NFL Christmas Day game live stream, as the Houston Texans played the Baltimore Ravens, Beyoncé took center stage for a show-stopping halftime performance and afterwards teased an upcoming drop.

For the special performance, which took place in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, TX, Queen B pulled out all the stops for a show filled with incredible fashion, elaborate choreography by the legendary Parris Goebel, and a slew of guest performers who appeared at various points throughout the twelve-plus minutes showcase.

The performance marked Bey’s first-ever live performance of songs from her genre-bending and record-breaking COWBOY CARTER album, which has recently become the most GRAMMY-nominated album by a female artist, with 11 nods.

Bey began her set with “16 CARRIAGES,” as she rode in on horseback, making her way to center field, wearing a white cowboy hat and fluffy coat which she ended up removing to reveal her ensemble of a glittery bodysuit and chaps, before going into other COWBOY CARTER tracks like “YA YA,” “SPAGHETTII/RIIVERDANCE,” and “JOLENE.”

And as for those previously mentioned surprise guest appearances, Shaboozey joined Bey for a performance of “SWEET HONEY BUCKIN’,” Post Malone came through to perform their collab “LEVII’S JEANS.” Plus, Country singers Tanner AdellBrittney SpencerTiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts also took to the field for a beautiful performance of “BLACKBIIRD.”

Just like her Renaissance World Tour, Bey also brought out her eldest daughter Blue Ivy to join the dozens of stunning backup dancers, all cowboyed out, bedazzled in all-white sashes and bodysuits, featuring lots of fringe and patriotic vibes.

And, just like her iconic BeyChella performance, Bey’s Halftime show was just as turnt up with the addition of nearly 200 members of Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band.

The performance also featured beautiful tribute to Western and Rodeo culture, and  included as special guests, Mexican Cowgirl, Melanie Rivera, Bull-riding legend, Myrtis Dightman, Jr., known as the “Jackie Robinson of Rodeo,” Miss Rodeo Texas Princess 2004 and Miss Rodeo Texas 2015, Nikki Woodward, and the first Black Rodeo Queen in Arkansas, Ja’Dayia Kursh. Also joining in the rousing caravan were Houston Texans owner, Cal McNair and his wife, Hannah.

Finishing off with a literal BANG, Bey concluded her set with her smash hit “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” as she lifted up to the rafters.

After her big finale, Bey hit us with a surprise on IG, teasing the possibility that a new release may be in our future, posting a video that dramatically sees Bey saddled up on a horse, rotating a hefty American Flag around in a circle, and then flashing the date “1.4.25.” So as of now, all we have is a date, and absolutely no explanation, but it does seem the surprise is COWOBY CARTER-themed, so at least there’s that.

No stranger to gracing NFL halftime shows with her appearance, Bey has previously performed at two Super Bowl games — as a headliner in 2013 and as a guest of Coldplay in 2016.

According to Netflix, streamer members will be able to re-live the full halftime performance of “Beyoncé Bowl,” as a standalone special, when it comes to the service later this week. But for now, you can check out Beyoncé’s Christmas Day Halftime performance below.
