PETA has another issue, and it has to do with the insults we all call each other.

The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals has called for people to stop using animals as insults. For example, if someone is acting cowardly, don't call them a "chicken." If someone is acting lazy, don't call them a "sloth."

The organization issued a tweet offering more examples that has been relentlessly mocked by users.

PETA social-media reps included a chart detailing the human "supremacist" terminology, encouraging people to use words like "coward" instead of "chicken," "snitch" instead of "rat," and "repulsive" rather than "pig."

PETA further wrote, "Speciesist language isn’t just harmful, but it is also inaccurate," and that "anti-animal slurs degrade animals by applying negative human traits to certain species. Perpetuating the idea that animals are sly, dirty, or heartless desensitizes the public and normalizes violence against other animals."

"I can't tell if this is real or you guys are making fun of yourselves," one twitter user wrote in response to the organization's tweet.

Another user was more direct, tweeting, "Instead of 'PETA'" say "'Trash.'"

“The kneejerk dismissals are a reflection of the times we want to put behind us, and after ridicule comes discussion and then acceptance, as we’ve seen with our campaigns to end the use of fur and to point out how inhumane and unhealthy cow’s milk is, among others," PETA President Ingrid Newkirk told The Post.

She added, “It shouldn’t be controversial to assert that the words we use have the power to create a more inclusive world or to perpetuate oppression, and PETA is simply asking everyone to think before they speak — or type.”

In a follow-up tweet, PETA said "Perpetuating the ideas that animals are sly, dirty, or heartless desensitizes the public and normalizes violence against other animals."
