P!nk is over the drama. The 43-year-old took to social media this weekend to express her frustration with the press giving more attention to comments surrounding a past feud with Christina Aguilera than the actual reason for the interview — her most recent album, Trustfall.

“I’m so saddened and disappointed by the narrative surrounding some of the press I’ve been doing around my album, Trustfall,” she wrote. “My real disappointment lies in the fact that the art can never be the focus when you’re a woman."

She continued, “The fact that I created one of the most beautiful albums with the most beautiful people -- sang my a** off, made myself wholly vulnerable -- eleven albums in… the only thing they ask you about over and over is a silly feud from your twenties.”

While the particular feud she addressed in a recent BuzzFeed article was from 20 years ago, and resolved, she recently told Audacy’s Mike Adam the music industry has made little progress when it comes to putting women against one another.

“We’re still pitted against each other, everybody still wants a feud, and that sucks because it’s not what it’s about,” she shared.

She dove right into an example from a recent interview where instead of being asked about her own work, she was asked to comment on the appearance of another female artist.

“They’re still saying in an interview to me — where I just worked for three years on my heart and soul of a project… My father died and I was able to put a song together about it — and you’re asking me what I think about Madonna’s face? That is not progress,” she stated. “We shouldn’t be talking about Madonna’s face, we should be talking about all the badass s**t that woman did for the rest of us to come along after her. That’s not progress, that’s clickbait.”

While her biggest disappointment is in the lack of progress, she admits she often overshares — something she recognizes only fuels the fire.

“While some of the responsibility lays with me and my inability to lie, and my uncanny ability to overshare -- I take responsibility also -- I’m out of practice dodging the bulls**t that gets thrown at us hardworking women,” she stated on socials. “I’m notorious for saying too much.”

She continued on to point out the double-standard for men and women in the business: “I wonder when the last time Bradley Cooper or Robert Deniro were asked in interview after interview about any argument they’d ever had,” she stated. “How about Christian Bale? We stick to the art with them, Don’t we? I’d like to have the same opportunity.”

With that, we’re happy to highlight P!nk’s new album, Trustfall, available now. The Pop star also revealed plans for a fresh tour, The Trustfall Tour, set to hit arenas this fall following her previously announced 2023 Summer Carnival Stadium Tour. General ticket sales begin February 24 at 10AM local time. Find tickets here.
