Tom Bergeron has revealed he's "returning to hosting."
While the 65-year-old will go back to being the master of cermonies, sadly, it won't be on "Dancing with the Stars."
Bergeron had kept fans in suspense after hinting at a new hosting job on social media last week.
But the "DWTS" alum has now let fans know that his new gig won’t be for any show he’s hosted in the past.
“I thought I would let you go into the weekend with some more information, some of which may disappoint some of you. I am returning to hosting — that is the part I hope doesn’t disappoint some of you,” Bergeron said in a video shared to Twitter on Friday.
Without disclosing the name of the program, he dashed the hopes of fans wanting him to once again headline the long-running ABC dance competition series.
“It’s not going to be a show that I previously hosted," he added. "However, it’s very reminiscent of a show I previously hosted.”
Many fans were quick to share their disappointment that Bergeron won't be back on "DWTS."
"Excited for u but bummed for me bc I was hoping & looking forward to being able to watch my fav show @DancingABC again!" tweeted one follower.
"DWTS will never be the same without you," added another.
While a third kept it simple by commenting, "Boooooooooooooo!"
Last week, Bergeron teased fans of his possible return after tweeting a video of Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone from “The Godfather: Part III,” and said, “Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.”
The former host then captioned the post, “Stay tuned…”
Bergeron, who hosted "DWTS" from its 2005 premiere until July 2020, announced he and former co-host Erin Andrews were let go from the show last year. Andrews had been co-hosting with Bergeron since 2014 after initially competing as a celebrity contestant.
The hosting role was resumed by supermodel Tyra Banks for season 29.
In October, executive producer for the show, Andrew Llinares, revealed why the former hosts were no longer on the show.
“I think it’s all about evolution. I think any show like this that has been on many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve.”
In addition to "DWTS," Bergeron previously hosted "America's Funniest Home Videos" and "Hollywood Squares."
