It looks like Travis Barker has been doing quite a bit of healing since the horrific 2008 private plane crash he, fellow artist DJ AM, and others were involved in which left four people dead. With thoughts of once again taking to the skies, Barker now wants "to make the choice to try and overcome it."

The blink-182 drummer and his close friend Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) were able to make their way out of the flaming wreckage of the aircraft through an emergency exit after it hit an embankment, while suffering serious injuries in the process. Barker was severely burned over 65% of his body and required months of treatment in the hospital. DJ AM passed a year later from a drug overdose.

This latest tweet from the beloved drummer could be one giant step in a healing direction, although his description of the dreadful day would leave anyone standing on a bus stop for the rest of their lives. Barker told Good Morning America back in 2015: "The plane’s on fire and my hands are on fire so I unbuckle my seat belt and I jump right into the jet, which holds all the fuel,” he said at the time. “I basically ignite my whole body in fire. I’m so soaked in jet fuel, there’s nothing I can do to put the fire out. I’m completely nude at this point... I’m running, grabbing my testicles, my genitals, because, I don’t know why, and then we realize, you know, we’re out of the plane and... the plane explodes.”

Speaking with Men's Health last month, Barker who was fearful of flying before the incident, admitted he's not afraid of death anymore. "There’s a million things that could happen to me," he explained. "I could die riding my skateboard. I could get in a car accident. I could get shot. Anything could happen. I could have a brain aneurysm and die. So why should I still be afraid of airplanes?"

Barker's got a plan to get himself back into a more normal routine: Someone close to Travis will tell him to be ready to leave within 24 hours, and Barker will know why... it's time to take to the sky.

“If I do it, and the angels above help me in my travels and keep me safe," he said he would like to come back and tell his kids Alabama and Landon, "‘Hey, I just flew here, and then I flew home. And everything was fine.’ I have to tell them, because I almost left them,” Barker said. "That’s a perfect day."
