Brad Pitt’s adding a new spirit to his brand portfolio.
The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor will premiere the gin at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, according to PEOPLE.
Pitt, having already staked a claim in the wine and champagne industries with him and ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s Miraval, is expanding into the new liquor, which is being billed as “the French Riviera Gin”.
The gin is being described as “dry London-style” white being “inspired by the south of France”.
The Gardener has been “handcrafted by Brad, Tom and Perrin”, in reference to the Perrin family, original partners in Miraval wines and Tom Nichol, a legendary gin distiller. The bottles are expected to be available in U.S. shops by September.
Matthieu Perrin said the new gin is “an expression of the land we cultivate and guard for the generations to come. It is a quest for perfection, dreamed up by friends who share a dedication to art and to craft”.
Master distiller Nichol was coaxed out of retirement by Pitt to aid in creating the Gardener. The collaboration was kept secret for two years and resulted in a “small-stilled, totally organic gin, crisp and fragrant”.
