Brad Pitt is opening up about making major changes to his lifestyle, including the prospect of retiring from his blockbuster Hollywood career.
In a new GQ cover story, the 58-year-old actor teased the end of his illustrious film career.
“I consider myself on my last leg,” Pitt said to the magazine, “this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”
Pitt has been acting since the late ‘80s and has starred in a slew of popular and critically acclaimed films including “Fight Club, “Twelve Monkeys,” “Seven,” and “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood," for which he took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. And while celebs are notorious for announcing their faux retirement ala Celine Dion, Cher and Jay-Z, Pitt’s film career doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. He’ll next be seen in the action film “Bullet Train” and the historical drama “Babylon.”
Pitt has also been more active behind the scenes through his production company Plan B, which is responsible for films like “Minari,” “Moonlight,” and the recently released update of “Father of the Bride.”
"I’m one of those creatures that speaks through art," Pitt added. "I just want to always make. If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way."
In the sprawling interview, Pitt also discussed quitting smoking during the pandemic.
“I don’t have that ability to do just one or two a day,” the actor said. “It’s not in my makeup. I’m all in. And I’m going to drive into the ground. I’ve lost my privileges.”

While the father of six didn’t get into his tumultuous relationship with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, he did mention how he got sober following their split in 2016 and spent over a year in Alcoholics Anonymous.
“I had a really cool men’s group here that was really private and selective, so it was safe,” he shared. “Because I’d seen things of other people who had been recorded while they were spilling their guts, and that’s just atrocious to me.”

Although legally single since 2019, Pitt and Jolie continue to be involved in a contentious custody battle over their minor children.
Fans can check out Pitt on the big screen later this summer when “Bullet Train” is released in theaters on August 5th.
