By Meredith Ganzman

The crowd went wild for 104-year-old World War II veteran Frank Anderson as he threw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in Memphis, TN this Fourth of July.

During the war, the Master Sergeant fought battles in England, France, and Germany that helped the allies win. Decades later, the Memphis Redbirds honored his service by inviting him to step up to the mound and start the Redbirds' Independence Day game.
