Dustin Lynch made an unsuspecting singer-songwriter’s dream come true as he pulled her on stage to help him sing a duet and the video has gone viral.

While on stage in Cadott, WI, Dustin asked the crowd if anyone wanted to help him sing his new song, “Thinkin’ Bout You,” in the absence of his usual duet partner, Mackenzie Porter. What Dustin didn’t know was that question would lead him to the unveiling of a star.
Seventeen-year-old Hailey James, an aspiring singer-songwriter was in the crowd with her family that night and when Dustin was looking for a duet parter, her family didn’t skip a beat pointing to James.
“They’re all pointing at you,” Dustin said to James from the stage. “Do you want to sing with me?” James took the opportunity and hopped on stage with Lynch, giving the performance of a lifetime.
“Dustin Lynch took my hand, and I was just walking him across the stage like I literally owned that stage,” James said, according to WKDQ. "My parents were blown away at how I took the stage … and I did it. I remembered the words, I acted like I was supposed to be up there, and they were super proud of me.”
Since that memorable night, James has posted a video of her performance to Facebook and TikTok, where it’s gone viral. The rising star now has more than six million across the two videos now and Lynch even reposted their performance on his Instagram story.
