The rapper revealed that he and the globally renowned boy band are in talks to create new music together. Fans have been speculating about a Snoop and BTS collab since January when BTS initially sent the rapper a request to work.
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper told The A.V. Club, “I’m going to let them tell you about it,” before adding, “It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s [a] vibe.”
BTS has made their admiration for Snoop clear in the past. They paid homage to his debut record Doggystyle on their 2014 track “Hip Hop Phile.”
For the West Coast rapper, the love is mutual. “I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together,” said Snoop.
The rapper revealed that BTS had first reached out to him back in January on the podcast Mogul Talk. At the time he noted, “ got a group named BTS that’s waiting on me to do a song with them right now. And I’m trying to figure out if I got time to do that s***.”

If his collaboration falls into place with BTS, this will not be the first time the artist has lent his voice to K-Pop. Snoop reminded fans, “I’ve been experiencing the K-pop experience for a long time, connected to the music world [and] scene. I got a record with a group called 2NE1 back in the day.”
