Yeah we know, Drake was the one honored with the Artist of the Decade award at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, but let’s be real, it was actually his 3-year-old son, Adonis Graham, who ended up stealing the show.

To everyone’s surprise, but also making perfect sense, Drake walked out hand in hand with his baby boy to accept his award. And when usually all eyes are expected to be on his papa, this time around they were on Adonis, as he adorably stood by his dad, clutching onto his very heavy BBMA award. As if that wasn't cute enough, their adorable father-son date marked Adonis's first public appearance.

That’s right, we’ve previously seen Adonis in pics on Instagram and recently in a video Drake shared featuring his basketball loving son. But Sunday’s award show was the very first time we saw Adonis, might we add, in his not so natural habitat. He did after all burst into tears by the end of the speech :( .

Born on October 11, 2017, Drake made a conscious decision to keep the birth of his son private at first. That is, until the news made its way onto Pusha T’s 2018 track “The Story of Adidon,” which resulted in Drake responding and finally confirming in the best way he knows how, through sing-rapping it. "Look at the way we live / I wasn't hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid," Drake raps on "Emotionless," the fourth track off his Scorpion album, which came out that same year. Since then, like we said, we've gotten a few rare glimpses of Adonis.

Last May, Drake joined Lil Wayne for an episode of Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne and opened up about his decision to introduce his son on Instagram. During the conversation, Drake shared that posting photos of Adonis on social media was not a move he had "talked to anybody about or anything I planned.”

Previous to that Drake had only posted glimpses of his dad life, never revealing photos of his son. From sharing a sweet photo of a painting Adonis had made for him in honor of Father’s Day, to putting Adonis’ birthday decorations on display, but never any of Adonis.

"It was great for me. It was great to just share that with the world," the artist said of his Instagram post that was shared at the end of March 2020, which was the first time Drake had ever revealed photos of his son. "I just woke up one morning and I was like, you know what? This is just something that I want to do.”

He went onto say, ”I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son," Drake added at the time. "I don't want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a 'celebrity' that I got to make everybody live under this blanket ... I just wanted to free myself of that."

Drake shares his son with artist Sophie Brussaux, and the proud mama also uses IG to share bits and pieces of her life with Adonis, from “Tobogganing” to Adonis’ first day of school.

And while any tiny glimpse of the adorable Adonis is always welcome, including all the posts from above, we have to say his BBMA moment is definitely our favorite.
