Angelina Jolie was spotted enjoying an extended trip in New York City, and many fans are left scratching their heads at her latest body art.

During her trip on the east coast, the Oscar-winning actress, 46, flashed a new tattoo while wearing a short-sleeve white t-shirt and gray dress while walking out of the Carlyle hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Daily Mail reports.

The cryptic new ink reads the phrase “eppur si muove” which in Italian, means “and yet it moves,” the outlet reports. The quote is from astronomer Galileo Galilei, who said, “Earth moves and it's not the center of the universe, muttered it to the inquisitors, as if to say that they may have won this battle, but in the end, truth would win out.”

Jolie first spoke of her new tattoo during an interview with British Vogue earlier this year, yet this is the first time the body ink has been spotted.

Jolie has a wide variety of body art, including a bengal tiger, khmer script, “Quad Me Nutrit Me Destruit,” a cross, geographical coordinates of her children, Vant, ViHan, Pha, Chad, Sada, and M, among others.

The news of her new tattoo comes amid a five-year custody battle between her and ex-husband Brad Pitt, 54.

The two now share joint custody of their six children, Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12.

Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement in April 2012 after seven years together. They were married on August 23, 2014, in a private ceremony in France. Jolie sought a divorce in 2016.
