Ahead of the anticipated competition, The “Charlene” singer briefly spoke with Big Tigger to get fans amped up. “I’ma throw some heat at it,” said Hamilton in reference to the upcoming music battle.
“I think it gives people a chance to see the catalogs. And [to see] how special those songs were. They [the songs] take you back to a time where you remember stuff that was significant…,” he added. The GRAMMY-winning artist also believes VERZUZ is a good opportunity for the younger generation to discover his music. When asked about special guests, Hamilton alluded that his former background vocalists, The Hamiltones, might make an appearance.

The event will be taking place in-person at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. It will also be live-streamed on Triller and Instagram. Yesterday VERZUZ co-founder Swizz Beatz clarified that the show will not be pay-per-view. A promotional post for the VERZUZ originally asked fans to sign-up for a free 14-day Triller trial in order to watch it exclusively.
“Who y’all rocking with @anthonyhamiltonofficial or @musiqsoulchild? You can also watch in HD on verzuztv.com,” Swizz wrote in a promotional Instagram caption. Following backlash from social media, Swizz claimed that he was out of the country and unaware of the presumed paid subscription.
Since then, the following misconceptions have been resolved.
