At just 17 years old, Eversole released his debut album Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style. The album went on to become certified gold by the RIAA. The veteran rapper was best known for his 2002 hit single "We Ready," featuring Bubba Sparxxx. The timeless song, which samples Steam’s 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,” is considered a pre-game anthem. Most notably, the track was adopted as the unofficial theme song for Major League Soccer team Atlanta United. In recent years, Eversole penned the single “United We Conquer” for the MLS team.
“The man who gave us ‘We Ready,’ the greatest Game Day anthem ever, has passed away at 37-years-old. Rest in Peace Archie Eversole. Prayers up to his family and loved ones,” former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III tweeted. "RIP Archie Eversole, an energetic rapper who crafted a song and anthem which will outlive and still be wholly southern and Atlanta," Associate Editor at ESPN, Brandon Caldwell also tweeted.
Tributes from athletes, former players, commentators, sports officials, and fans continue to pour in across social media, following the sorrowful news of Eversole’s untimely death.
