Machine Gun Kelly played a sold-out show last night (June 28) at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and Audacy was there to witness all the pink magic!
"I've loved New York City from the beginning of my career... it was the first city that actually gave me my first music check," MGK (aka Colson Baker) said while on stage at The Garden. "I became the first rapper to win Amateur Night at The Apollo. My first rap check was $45, and I never cashed it, I kept it forever and I also kept it right here in my heart forever, where New York City lies."
She was the mother******* princess of Madison Square Garden!
We couldn’t believe we were getting to see Avril tear up the stage at MSG, “What the Hell”?! So sick!
Would it even be an Avril Lavigne concert without getting into your feels during “Complicated”?
Our sk8er girl was rockin’ up MSG with one of our favorite songs EVER.
After seeing her set, it’s safe to say we would live at an Avril Lavigne concert if we could. It was finally time for Machine Gun Kelly to take the stage and as the lights went down, the crowd lit up.
He landed on the stage after traveling across the arena hanging from a custom pink and black helicopter, in true MGK fashion and it was EPIC.
Please never leave this scene MGK, you’re our favorite ‘Mainstream Sellout’!!!
Landon Barker came out to surprise the crowd and sing “Die in California” along with Kels!
“I was recording with Travis Barker and I walked out to get some air, and there was another studio in there, and his son was inside that studio and he was playing this song. So, I wanna bring my boy Travis’ son out here to sing a song that’s his.”
One of our favorite moments of the show unfolded next. MGK shouted out an adorable little fan and showed him some MAJOR love.
“Little man, f*** yeah! You grow up and be great, I love you! I love you, don’t ever let that invisible box, you see the internet right there? Don’t let that ever discourage you from what you wanna do.”
NYC loves MGK and that’s why he took this moment during the show to turn the top of the Empire State Building pink in honor of his sold out night!
Honestly, just tattoo this entire song on us. We’ll never get over “Bloody Valentine” live and we never want to.
WE’RE IN LOVE WITH AN EMO BOY!
More Avril Lavgine? YES, please! MGK brought out the icon to sing their song “Boys Lie” together, and we’ll never be the same.
“When I’m backstage and I walk by and it says Avril Lavigne, I’m like **** that’s insane, then it’s even more insane to be like ‘Yo Avril, we got a song together. Get the f*** up here and let’s do that s***!’”
Then came the most special moment of the entire night.
MGK brought out JXDN to sing “Lonely” together as they dedicated it to JXDN’s best friend, Cooper Noriega, who recently passed away. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, but there was a lot of love.
Being on stage in front of his fans was simply not enough for Colson, so naturally he performed “Make Up Sex” in a sea of fans, and it was an unforgettable moment.
Machine Gun Kelly ended the show saying, “New York City, I’m f***ing human! I also love you all for being the humans that you are and coming to see a person like me and this band. This night means so much to us, performing in front of 15 f***in' people for so many years, 1,500 people, we made it 15,000, and then we made it to the Garden and sold this s*** out, all because of heart!”
“Keep your heart, keep your integrity, keep your positive energy going, do whatever you got," he concluded. "I love you all so much, have a great f***ing summer, I’ll see y’all next year!" Check out the full list of remaining tour dates now and grab your tickets via Ticketmaster.
