During a recent chat with Audacy's 96.5 TIC, pop-punk superstar Avril Lavigne gave us a little more insight into that epic TikTok debut she made with pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk back in mid-2021.

We already know the story of how she got "The Birdman" into her backyard for the amazing "Sk8er Boi" clip that perfectly brought 2002 and 2022 together, just by, like, asking him. But now we know exactly how she pulled off the ridiculously on-point 2000s fashion seen in the video.

Interesting fact: The clothes that she's wearing in the clip were all collected and stored neatly away back then in a fire and waterproof facility. So, there was no time-travel back to a Hot Topic involved. It was all just waiting for a time to shine once again! Once Tony had arrived, and the BBQ was fired up, Avril explained that she just started pulling things out to wear. "I save all of my clothes," she says. "I literally save everything, like every outfit from every music video; every guitar from every tour or every music video. I just save it all. Those outfits are definitely stored away... I do have a couple of big hoodies though, from high school. One says 'Skateboarding Is Not A Crime,' and one is West 49, just these huge, oversized skate hoodies, literally from Grade 9."

Honestly, now that the 2000s are back in style, Avril won't need to go shopping when she hits the road for festival dates, as well as shows in Canada and overseas to support her brand new album at the end of April!
