While the teaser clip showed her running away, it’s actually the opposite, Billie Eilish runs towards us with more Hit Me Hard and Soft visuals.

Ahead of it's arrival, Billie shared a post captioned, “👀👀“CHIHIRO” VIDEO OUT TOMORROW 9AM PTTTT HEHEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE🐉🐉🫢,” alongside a video of herself running down a hallway with someone else beside her.
For those who don’t know “CHIHIRO,” is in reference to the main character in the beloved Studio Ghibli film, Spirited Away. A longtime fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s filmography, Eilish has even jokingly admitted to having a crush on the dragon in Spirited Away.
Per usual, the track was produced by Billie’s brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, and features a chilled thumping melody and Eilish’s soft tone singing — “Today, maybe tomorrow/ Open the door for me/ I know you said before/ You can’t cope with it no more.”
As we mentioned above, for the new self-directed music video Eilish is seen running through an empty building, singling along to the track and sporadically contending with a disappearing second person, even getting into a physical tussle. Eventually the two sprint down a hallway and escape the premises, as Eilish continues to sing the lyrics along to the camera, and tussle with said person, but this time in a field.
