BLACKPINK 'The Album' Debut Finally Has a Release Date

Mark your calendar

You guys! It’s happening! BLACKPINK has officially announced that their long anticipated debut album will bless out eardrums on October 2 via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records.

Since the release of their self-titled Japanese EP, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have spent the last almost four years climbing their way to the top, breaking streaming records and gaining global mainstream success.

In 2018, the K-pop super girl group released the Korean-language Square Up, which was later repackaged with their EP into the compilation album, BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA, that same year. In 2019, after inking a deal with Interscope, the ladies celebrated with the release of an EP, Kill This Love and epically snagged a spot on the coveted Coachella lineup.

Earlier this year, the ladies appeared on Lady Gaga’s song “Sour Candy” from her latest album Chromatica. And now, well on October 2, we’re finally getting some new BLACKPINK “in our area.” Before the awaited album arrives the quartet plan to release a second single next month, following the album's smash lead single, "How You Like That" with this latest track promised to include a "surprise feature."

Seriously though, we can't wait. October 2 cant come soon enough. We are in desperate need for some new music to blast and dance to alone in our living room.
