According to Page Six, Alexander, 39, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance.
Spears and Alexander were married for 55 hours in 2004. The two childhood friends tied the knot in a Las Vegas chapel, but had their marriage annulled shortly afterwards.
In a 2012 interview with ABC News, Alexander admitted the two were under the influence when they decided to get married. He said the two were drinking and “had party favors.” When asked if he meant drugs, Alexander replied, "Alcohol is a drug. Coffee is a drug. Cigarette is a drug. Yeah, we were doing drugs."
"She just came out and asked me," he said. "She was like, 'Well, let's get married.' And I was like, 'Sure. You know, let's do this.'"
Alexander recently made headlines after he shared a photo of himself attending the pro-Trump protest at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 that turned violent.
In the now-deleted photo, Alexander posted a picture to his Facebook page and can be seen wearing a red Trump 45 knit cap amid a crowd in the background. He captioned the post, "DC. Millions showed up."
It’s not known whether or not Alexander was part of the mob that stormed the Capitol building.
