As Britney Spears said herself in her 2013 hit single… “you better work b****.” And that’s exactly what she did for her upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me.

“My book is coming out very, very soon. I worked my a** off for this book,” she announced to fans in a IG video post just hours after the memoir was announced. “I had a lot of therapy to get this book done, so you guys better like it. If you don’t like it, that’s fine too,” she cheekily added.
“Either way,” Britney said, before (alluding to an upcoming trip to Bermuda) she started reciting the lyrics to Beach Boys’ beloved 1988 hit single “Kokomo.”
“I’m going to Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama, Miyago, Machigo, baby why don’t we go,” she said stepping out of frame, returning moments later wearing a pair of white framed sunglasses. Brit Brit went on to sing some, “Koko, koko, masasees,” which we’ll classify as related gibberish (but definitely not lyrics), before a voice off camera said, “too much, too much.”
The post, followed a seemingly identical one, sharing pretty much the same announcement, sans the off camera commentators two cents.
Britney also posted the official book teaser trailer, which reads, “It’s coming… My story… On my terms… At last… Are you ready?”
The anticipated tell-all was then additionally announced to have an October 24 release date, as per the official press release. Which also went on to describe the book as “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope,” teasing that it “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story” on her own terms.
