Candace Cameron Bure got emotional describing her final communication with Bob Saget.
In a new interview, the 45-year-old actress shared the text exchange she had with her late “Full House” co-star and disclosed the pair had gotten “into a little tiff” two weeks prior to his sudden death in January.
"It was just two weeks before he passed. I’m actually going to grab my phone. I’m so scared that I’m going to pull up his text and then accidentally delete it one day," Bure tearfully told “Today” host Hoda Kotb.
"We were going to have dinner. And we got into a little tiff. And his flight was delayed. We ended up not having dinner," she recounted. "But in Bob fashion, the next day he wrote me, like, what would be pages long of a text. And he was apologizing, saying he was cranky and he was just so sorry."
Bure then began to read Saget’s text from her phone.
“He said, 'Oh, now I feel even worse. I was so wrong. You’re, like, my favorite person on the earth. And I acted like Dolly [Saget’s late mother]. I was getting ready to take a late flight, and I was annoyed,'" the actress shared. “And he said at the end, 'I love you more for the trouble you’re giving me, if that’s even possible.’"
The mother of three continued by reading her response.
"And I wrote back, 'I love you. I could never be mad at you. Roll my eyes at you? Yes. But never mad," Bure recalled. "'And I love that (you're being like) Dolly. That made me laugh out loud. I loved your mom.'"
Saget died on January 9th at the age of 65. While an official cause of death has yet to be revealed, the medical examiner previously said the autopsy showed “no evidence of drug use or foul play.”
On January 14th, Bure attended Saget’s memorial service alongside fellow “Full House” stars John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
