If you know anything about Chris Janson, you know music and his family are at the center of his universe. With that, you can imagine how elated the 35-year-old singer was when his daughter, Georgia, came to him and said she wanted to write a song.

Lucky for Georgia, her Dad knows a thing or two about songwriting and was quick to jump up and help.
“What an honor it is for me to get to write a song with my kid,” Chris expressed. “One of the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given. Proud would be an understatement.”
Janson is clearly bursting with pride and proved he has reason to be by posting a video of the father-daughter duo working on the song in Key West. In the video, Georgia steals the spotlight from her Dad as she sings alongside him playing guitar while he steps in to gently coach her here and there.
“She has that natural thing, that only REAL songwriters have,” Janson captioned the post. “Thinks really deep, and she writes from her heart. Honestly reminds me of a young female Dean Dillon. So basically, she’s my new hero.”
Sounds like Georgia already has a solid fanbase, and we must admit, having the support of a credible songwriter like Janson, who is behind hits like “Buy Me A Boat,” “Holding Her,” and “Drunk Girl,” is definitely not a bad thing! Who knows, she could be his next opening act.
Moments like the songwriting session with his daughter are extra special to Chris and his family these days after they survived a horrible house fire earlier this year.
"I went into survival mode," Janson said of the events to People.com. "The fire melted my ottoman and literally created a campfire essentially right in the middle of my studio room. This was a legit, '7-foot flame, taller than me' fire. It was a 'melting my ceiling fan onto my ottoman' fire."
Chris credits his wife, Kelly, for saving their entire family after she woke up to the faint sound of beeping in the middle of the night.
“Luckily I woke up, rushed the kids outside [and] within 10 minutes the Williamson Co. firefighters & Sheriffs arrived,” she shared. “Please check your smoke alarms!!”
