Actor Chris Noth has been fired from the CBS show “The Equalizer” in the midst of sexual assault allegations made against the actor.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, CBS and Universal Television released a statement Monday, saying, “Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately.”
The actor, best known for his roles on “Sex in the City” and “The Good Wife,” was accused of sexual assault by two women who separately approached “The Hollywood Reporter” to share their experiences. “The Hollywood Reporter” published the story on Thursday.
Although Noth has denied the allegations, a third woman came out and claimed the actor assaulted her, according to the Daily Beast.
On Friday, Noth was dropped by his agency, A3 Artists Agency.
According to CNN, Noth's "Sex and the City" castmates Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who also starred and executive produced the new HBO show "And Just Like That" featuring Noth, released a statement via social media addressing the allegations.
"We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth," they said. "We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it."
