'Sex and the City' star Chris Noth was 'hesitant' to take part in the revival

Mr. Big is back, but he almost bounced.

Chris Noth's return to the world of "Sex and the City" was not such an easy decision for the actor, who played the iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) on-again, off-again man in the original series.

Admittedly, Noth told Yahoo Finance that he was "hesitant" to return to the role that put his name on the map.

"It was a little bit of a sort of creative negotiation because I didn't really feel I had anything to offer in that role again. It kind of felt like I had done it," he explained.

"But [executive producer] Michael Patrick King is just an incredible writer and has incredible creative ideas, and once we got together and talked about the potential of what we could do with the character, I was all in," he continued.

The 10-episode revival, "And Just Like That..." is currently underway in New York City with most of the original cast of the show returning to reprise their original roles.

That is, of course, all but Kim Catrall, who opted to decline the reprise of her role Samantha Jones. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis have all opted to give their roles of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York Goldenblatt another swing.

Despite the changes to the script in the absence of Catrall, the cast seems to be having a great time filming the upcoming series.

And while Noth's character married Carrie Bradshaw in the first "Sex and the City" movie, the new series will show the cracks in their relationship as well as the return of Carrie's ex-love, Aidan Shaw (John Corbett).
