Christina Ricci added to cast of ‘The Matrix 4’

Christina Ricci is taking the red pill.

Ricci is the newest addition to the cast of “The Matrix 4,” Warner Bros. announced in an updated press kit, per Deadline.

The newest installment in “The Matrix” series, the film will be directed by Lana Wachowski, who co-directed and co-wrote the first three movies with her sister Lilly Wachowski.

In addition to Ricci, the film’s star-studded cast will also include Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

This won’t be Ricci’s first time working with the film’s director. The two formerly worked on the Wachowski-helmed “Speed Racer” in 2008, which also starred Emile Hirsch, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon.

“The Matrix 4” is set for release on Dec. 22, 2021.
