Continuing with their ‘Hanukkah Sessions’ festivities, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and producer/keyboardist pal Greg Kurstin were joined Dave’s daughter, Violet, in front of a live audience at the Largo in Los Angeles, for a cover of Janis Ian’s 1975 folk classic, “At Seventeen.”

Described in the Foo Fighters’ YouTube caption as “one of the all-time classic coming-of-age anthems,” Ian herself even commented on the clip, thanking Violet “for singing my song so beautifully, and with such heart.”
Ian, who won a GRAMMY in 1975 for the single, added thanks to the rest of the players as well, “for fighting antisemitism, all of you. Heartfelt [thanks]. I can't sing any more, and this helped my journey through that devastation immensely.” Proceeds from this year's live version of 'Hanukkah Sessions' were donated to the Anti-Defamation League.
Earlier this month the festival of lights and covers of Jewish artists, produced by Judd Apatow, started with Apatow himself taking the stage to sing Blood Sweat and Tears’ “Spinning Wheel.” P!nk was also on hand, singing her hit "Get The Party Started," and The Bird and the Bee's Inara George performed 10cc’s “The Things We Do For Love." Also during the night, Beck performed his track “E-Pro,” the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O belted out her "Heads Will Roll," and Jack Black crushed Rush’s "The Spirit of Radio." Grohl closed it all out with his own renditions of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.,” and David Lee Roth’s “Just a Gigolo.”
