Demi Lovato has finally addressed the rumors of her split from Max Ehrich.
News of the couple’s breakup first came a few days ago, but Ehrich recently made comments on an Instagram story saying they haven’t officially broken up. Now, it’s for real.
Demi dropped a bombshell by releasing her new break-up song “Still Have Me” on Twitter. She wrote the song a while ago, but sources told TMZ she changed the lyrics to reflect her split from Ehrich. Her team was reportedly blindsided by the move as they didn’t see the song coming.
“Music is always there for me…” The singer wrote on Twitter.
The duo first revealed their relationship back in March and became engaged in July. "I knew I loved you the moment I met you," Demi wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. "It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all."
During Max’s IG story, which was captured by TMZ via screenshots, he said “up to this moment we haven't spoken over the phone ... we haven't even officially ended anything to each other."
"If you're reading this ... I love you always.... unconditionally... no matter what," he was reported as saying. "I'm here in real time with y'all. I love Demetria and just want her to be healthy and safe."
Just before Midnight last evening, Lovato dropped a clue on Twitter that she was planning on releasing a new song in the morning.
"It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," a source told People. "They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together."
The couple were together for six months prior to ending their relationship.
