With a mega Country music star as your Dad, many would assume Country music would be the only thing you listened to, but that proves false for Dierks Bentley’s three kids. In the Bentley household, it’s about all types of music, not just Country.

“I love all music,” Dierks told Audacy’s Coop. “I get my fill of Country music when I’m alone, and whatever they want to listen to on the radio when we’re driving around [is] totally fine by me.”

Point proven by a recent video posted to Dierks’ Instagram showing his son rocking out to Travis Scotts “Goosebumps,” upon the announcement that Dierks’ Seven Peaks Music Festival will return in 2021.

“With my seven-year old, Knox, he always liked the Country music that was a little more up-tempo and a little more rockin’, little more electric,” Dierks told Audacy’s Coop. “One day we were driving around in the car and I said, ‘if you want to listen to rockin’ music, why don’t we just listen to some Rock music?’ He was probably about five [years old] when I started playing him Metallica.”

Dierks continued, “Then we listened to some Van Halen — I was kinda playing the role of Jack Black in that movie School of Rock,” he joked. ”Some of that led to Eminem, and I don’t know how he got to 'Goosebumps,' [by] Travis Scott, that’s a little heavier music, but he loves that song.”

While Knox shows his love for Scott in one Instagram video, another video shows he may not be the biggest fan of Madonna — but we think Dierks and his wife, Cassidy, are to blame for that!

On Mother’s Day this year, Dierks posted a video featuring he and his wife singing along to Madonna’s, “Get Into The Groove,” while totally embarrassing their three kids in the back seat.

“The song took me right back to my youth,” Dierks said of hearing the 1984 hit come on the radio while driving in the car with his family. “So I had to get a little selfie of the kids reaction back there… just priceless!”

“My middle daughter, she’s just straight up angry. Pissed,” he laughed. “‘Wow look at you cool, old parents. You guys think you’re so cool, I’m almost embarrassed for you guys so I’m just going to smile so you can’t tell how sad this is,’” he playfully mocked. “My son, Knox, is just so depressed about the whole thing. It was just a classic moment that I think any parent out there can relate to… it was fun to make them suffer a bit.”

It’s no wonder Dierks says he can’t wait to hit the road for his Beers on Me Tour, kicking off August 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The crowd is sure to be much more accepting of his singing ;)
