Dierks Bentley has had a lot of “pinch me” moments as a big-time Country artist, but one he’s still trying to wrap his mind around is U2 covering his song during their show.

“Things have happened in my life and I’m just like, ‘How did that happen?!’” Dierks shared with Audacy’s Katie Neal. “I was at a U2 concert one time, and I know those guys a little bit, and Bono started singing “Drunk On A Plane,” in the middle of his song, “Beautiful Day.”

“It’s like, what, what, what?? Are we in the metaverse?? This is the ultimate reality we’re living in right now, this must be a simulated reality because there’s no way this is real life.”

While it was real life and a moment Dierks clearly is still trying to digest, the 46-year-old father of three says he is just as happy finding “pinch me” moments in every day life as well.

“There’s some book I read about you should keep a jar of awesome moments and it can be the smallest thing,” he shared. “For me, I try to find those moments in the smaller little family things that happen that are just so funny. From losing teeth to [my] girls going through stuff… there’s a lot of them.”

The always-humble Dierks is set to hit the road beginning June 2022 with his Beers On Me Tour joined by special guest, Travis Denning and Ashley McBryde. He’s also in the studio perfecting a new album he says will debut around this time next year. Check out the full interview with Dierks Bentley above.
