After already sharing two of the upcoming release’s singles -- “Attention” and “Paint the Town Red” -- Doja Cat revealed the official release date on Tuesday, along with the album’s cover art featuring a creepy red spider with a solitary drop of blood suspended above it. “SCARLET 9.22,” her caption read, punctuated with an obligatory spider emoji.

However, the art appeared to be nearly identical to another cover by German metal band Chaver for their new album Of Gloom. Probably because both were designed by Portland artist Dusty Ray. While Doja’s kept hers bare without any text, Chaver’s cover also features a painting of a big pinkish arachnid and not quite a drop of blood, but a small dot.

Doja quietly removed the announcement post from her feed, adding an updated cover on Thursday.

Don't miss Doja Cat on her first North American arena tour scheduled for this fall. The Scarlet Tour, with Ice Spice and Doechii joining her, is set to kick off on October 31 in San Francisco, making stops across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping on December 13 in Chicago.
