This will be Parton’s second consecutive year hosting the ACMs while it marks Brooks’ first time hosting not only this particular award show, but an award show of any kind.
“All I hope that we do as a pair is represent [Country music] well,” Brooks told Billboard of hosting alongside Parton. “Just sitting here, I’m nervous as hell, and I don’t know why that is because she’s never been anything but sweet to me, never been anything but treated me as an equal, though I’m not.”
Parton commented, “I am thrilled to return to host the ACM Awards, this time with my friend Garth. While I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with him throughout the years, I can’t believe we’ve never had the chance to work together.”
In addition to hosting the show, Parton disclosed she will also debut a song from her forthcoming Rock album during the big night. “In addition to getting to see all this great new talent in Country music, I am excited to have the chance to premiere the lead single from my upcoming Rock album on the show.”
The 58th annual ACM Awards will air live from Ford Center at the Star in Frisco on May 11. Fans can view the show live via Amazon’s Prime Video.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this legendary pair together for the first time ever as ‘Country Music’s Party of the Year’ heads to the DALLAS COWBOYS' world headquarters,” said ACM CEO and ACM Awards EP, Damon Whiteside. “From exclusive superstar performances to unexpected collaborations to the industry’s most exciting emerging talent, fans are in for an unforgettable night that can only be seen on the ACM wards stage.”
