Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge teaming up for ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ TV series on Amazon Prime

After collaborating on 2018's "Solo: A Star Wars Story," Donald Glover & Phoebe Waller-Bridge are teaming up for a reboot of the 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Glover posted an Instagram Story that announced the news, which was later confirmed by Amazon Studios head, Jennifer Salke.

The TV series for Amazon Prime is set to premiere in 2022. The duo are set to star in and executive produce the series, according to Variety.

“Talk about the dream team! Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world. It’s truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team,” Salke said in a statement. “’Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ is an iconic property, and we can’t wait to see how Donald, Phoebe and Francesca make it their own. We’re thrilled to be working with them, and with such great partners at New Regency.”

The original film, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple who and secret assassins working for adversarial agencies, grossed almost $500 million worldwide. For now, there's no word if either Pitt or Jolie would be involved in the series.

Glover, who is also known as musical artist Childish Gambino, is gearing up for a big year as he announced that new music along with multiple seasons of his award-winning series "Atlanta" are on the way.

"Fargo" writer Francesca Sloane is on board as co-creator of the series.
