We’re just days away from the full-length feature film debut from the Foo Fighters and we’ve already gotten an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the movie. Mainly, drummer Taylor Hawkins is a self-admitted terrible actor.

The Foo Fighters made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live ahead of the release of their horror comedy Studio 666 and spilled the beans on making a movie together. After Kimmel asked the group who the worst actor in the band was, Dave Grohl mentioned that as a scripted movie, each member of the band was tasked with learning lines.
“Taylor refused to learn his lines,” Grohl said, to which Kimmel then asked Hawkins why he had to be difficult. “It’s not that I’m difficult, it’s that I’m lazy and I’m not much for book learning,” he said. “I don’t know, it was like, I had a bunch of pages to read,” he added to an eruption of laughter from the audience.
Studio 666 is set for a February 25th release and the Foo Fighters have already shared some material that’ll be a part of the film. Earlier in the week, the band dropped the thrash metal track “March of the Insane,” which was released under the moniker of Dream Widow.
While there hasn’t been any confirmation as to what Dream Widow’s role in Studio 666 is, the song is pure adrenaline and makes us excited to find out what else is included in the film.
In their interview with Kimmel, Grohl did note that they’ve talked about franchising the movie as they aim to replicate the joy they experienced from watching 70s Rock movies. As the Foos discussed the possibility of pitching the project to other bands, they came to a startling realization.
“We eventually realized we’re the only band stupid enough to do this,” Grohl said.
