Audacy hosts Gunner and Cheyenne enjoyed some time with singer Gabby Barrett before her time to shine at Country Thunder Arizona over the weekend, getting into Gabby's quick rise to the top, and more.
LISTEN: Gabby talks family, fame and more with Gunner and Cheyenne
Gabby, now a new mom to Baylah May with husband Cade Foehner, says she has been bringing her little one everywhere she goes and even sets up her little playpen backstage to roam free. "I like to be very hands-on with her," she says. "Really, she's only watched when I have to do stuff like soundcheck and perform." Gabby's husband also performs in her band, so there are limited instances when a nanny is necessary -- but most of the time she's right by her side. "Everybody kept saying, 'I know which one's Gabby's bus,'" she jokes, because she says they can see all of the baby's belongings strewn outside.
The trio also got into her husband Cade's new look, which Gabby says was his own choice but she approves. "It's just clean and fresh," she says, while also addressing her own hairstyle change. "I had to give the blonde a break. I am a natural, very-dark brunette... so I think natural color fits."
Finally, the 2018 American Idol alum says the excitement of her quick rise to fame and family only truly sunk in during the COVID pandemic, when things slowed down not only for her but the rest of the world as well. "The artist life just moves really fast all the time," Gabby admits, "so it's hard to process things and let them sink in, because it's like, you're on one stage and then you're off to another. I am thankful I have been able to let it sink in and I just feel very grateful."
