Downtown Oakland's Golden Bull reopened this week for the first time since March of 2020 and they were welcomed back with a surprise gig from Green Day side project, cover band The Coverups.

The band played to celebrate bar owner Bill Schneider's 50th birthday and the set of covers featured Billie Joe Armstrong and Green Day drummer Tre Cool for at least a handful of songs.
The bar called it the Best Thursday in over a year and hinted that it could be the Best Friday ever, so read that how you see fit.
Green Day will kickoff the long-awaited Hella Mega Tour in July.
