In the midst of singing, “Icky Thump,” a song with commentary surrounding immigration, White announced, “this next line here, goes straight to Florida Governor, DeSantis.”
He continued on to sing the third verse of the song, “White Americans, what? Nothing better to do // Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too // Who's using who? What should we do? // Well, you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too.”
The “shout out” to DeSantis has stirred up lots of political debate among White Stripes and music fans all over. Check it out above.
